Register by Oct 13 — Election Day Nov 3

Your vote

Three ways to vote.

Early, by mail, or on Election Day. Here are the dates, the deadlines, and exactly where to go on the Shore.

Option 01

Vote early.

Thursday, October 22 through Thursday, October 29, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily. Any early voting center in your county — you are not assigned to one.

Option 02

Vote by mail.

Request a ballot by October 27 (mail or fax) or October 30 for electronic delivery. Send it back early — it has to be received or postmarked by Election Day.

Option 03

Vote on Election Day.

Tuesday, November 3, polls open 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. On Election Day you vote at your assigned precinct, not an early voting center.

If you vote early, you cannot vote on Election Day or by mail-in ballot. Pick one and you are done.

Start here — it takes two minutes

Are you registered at
your current address?

Names change. People move. A registration at an old address is the single most common reason a Shore voter gets turned away. Check it now, and register or update by Tuesday, October 13.

Two minutes now beats a problem in November.

Key dates

Put these on the calendar.

  1. Deadline to register to vote

Register or update your address by this date to vote a regular ballot. You can also register in person during early voting or on Election Day with proof of residency.

  2. Early voting

Centers are open 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. every day, including the weekend.

  3. Deadline to request a mail-in ballot by mail or fax

Request it earlier than this if you can — it still has to reach you and get back.

  4. Deadline to request a mail-in ballot delivered electronically

  5. Election Day — polls open 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

A mail-in ballot must be RECEIVED by your local board by 8:00 p.m., or postmarked by Election Day. Dropping it in a ballot drop box is the safest way to be certain it counts.

Make a plan. Then tell a neighbor.

The Shore turns out when people remind each other. Pick your day, pick your place, and bring somebody with you.
